This course's large greens are fast. In addition water hazards come into play on six holes. Numerous sand bunkers have been strategically placed on many of the fairways and around most of the greens.

National and State Parks

Appalachian Trail - The Appalachian National Scenic Trail is a 2,174-mile footpath along the ridgecrests and across the major valleys of the Appalachian Mountains from Katahdin in Maine to Springer Mountain in northern Georgia.

Caledonia State Park - in Adams and Franklin counties, midway between Chambersburg and Gettysburg on US 30. Caledonia is in the northernmost section of the Blue Ridge Mountains known locally as South Mountain.

Mont Alto State Park - Local mountain roads offer interesting short hikes and a flora that attracts a diversity of wildlife, especially woodland birds. It can be reached from Caledonia State Park
