If you've been thinking about visiting Gettysburg but haven't made the trip, don't worry, there will always be plenty of “reasons to visit,” so begin planning today. Now is a great time to enjoy one of our many events, experience Civil War living history, or simply walk in the steps of the great Americans who made Gettysburg hallowed ground.

Gettysburg events take place year round.  From the Apple Harvest Festival in the fall to the Gettysburg Festival/History Meets the Arts in the early summer, there’s something for everyone!

Each weekend, step back in time at one of the many living history encampments around Gettysburg.  History comes alive as you walk through camps to learn first-hand about the soldiers and civilians of the American Civil War.

Walk the battlefields of Gettysburg year round.  Go on your own with the self-guided tour CD, or treat yourself to a tour of the battlefield with a Licensed Battlefield Guide.  Winter, spring, summer, or fall, there is always something new to learn about the Civil War in Gettysburg.

More than 20 Gettysburg museums interpret the history of the town and the Civil War.  Hear about presidents and generals, the battle and the town. Understand the impact of the rail system during the war. Check out the history of spiritual investigations. You'll discover hidden gems and shining jewels.
